  • Meet your host, Anna & Gabriel S

Hi there! We're a couple who's been living on the west side of Stockholm for 5 years. We know our way around pretty well, love to meet people and have new experiences and would like to show you a few gems in our part of Stockholm. Gabriel likes good food and drinks, nature, and death metal. Anna likes arts and crafts, cozy cafés and reggaeton.

  • What you will see and do

Step right into our kitchen, and we'll cook and enjoy a nice meal of classic Swedish meatballs together!

Few things have such a strong Swedish identity as the Swedish meatball. It's featured in movies, TV shows, books and is, of course, the most sold dish in every IKEA store. But how do the Swedes really cook it? And what's it like in a suburban home in the land of IKEA?

Together, we'll prepare, cook and eat a meal with classic Swedish meatballs, lingonberry jam, and mashed potatoes at our place. Bring an appetite and we'll have a great time as we get busy in the kitchen and later enjoy the meal. We'll offer you some small traditional Swedish starter while we cook.

Please let us know if you have any allergies if you don't eat pork etc and we'll try our best to accommodate you.

We live a bit outside of town, but since Stockholm isn't that big that still means it's only a 30-minute ride in public transportation. We'd love to give you directions, and we can upon special request meet you in a more central location to facilitate travel.

Aren't you getting hungry? Book now and food will soon be served!
    Love,
    Anna and Gabriel

This was without a doubt one of our most fun, unique and memorable experiences in Stockholm. Anna & Gabriel were amazing hosts and made us feel really welcome in their beautiful home. I can recommend this experience to everyone and honestly can’t wait to cook the Meatball recipe for my family.

I was most interested in the cultural exchange and Gabriel was fantastic for this interest! (Anna was out of town this date). In our case, our plans that day got turned around by a rescheduled bike tour beyond our control so we asked if we could still meet but in the City and Gabriel and his family were wonderfully flexible, met us there and treated us to dinner. I cannot speak to the specifics of the activity but Gabriel was a fabulous communicator, a warm and welcoming host, and I cannot think of a better person to introduce us to Swedish culture. My 14 year old son and I give this experience two thumbs up!
