    Hi! My name is Julia. Born in Russia, I've become a passionate lover of Sweden and everything about and around it. That's why I've spent half of my life studying the Swedish mentality, traditions and history... At the moment I work with various projects, some of which involve teaching Swedish, guiding in Sweden, writing books about Sweden - and that's what I'd like to share with you: my knowledge of all the secrets I've discovered so far. What makes me so different from other guides? Well, here are some examples: - I've written 3 thick travel guides over Sweden, Stockholm and Scandinavia, all of them with tons of fascinating facts - I've been guiding in Sweden since 2000 - I create excursions for various travel agencies - I give lectures about Swedish mentality and customs

  • What you will see and do

    The museum of the world’s best-preserved warship “Vasa” and the world’s oldest open-air museum “Skansen” are probably the best-known museums of Sweden. During our exciting tour, you’ll have a chance to get a glimpse of both of them and see their history in all its glory. Start the day with visiting the warship “Vasa” and continue with exploring the old farmsteads of the country at Skansen.

    What can you expect of our combi-tour?

    At the “Vasa” museum, we’ll find out:
    - the story behind the catastrophe and recovery of the ship;
    - why “Vasa” was so brightly colored and what these colors actually meant;
    - all about the sculptures and their symbolism;
    - the life of the sailors some 350 years ago;

    Then, it’s time to proceed to the second museum, Skansen, where we’ll start with a cup of tea/coffee and, after this short break, we’ll learn about:
    - some Swedish traditions;
    - some peculiarities of the architectural style typical for some regions;
    - why so many cottages in Sweden are painted red;
    - how come that a simple peasant’s house in the north of Sweden turned out to be one of the most decorated ones.

    After our tour, you’re welcome to stay at Skansen as long as you wish to have a closer look at the buildings, the animals or to visit the famous Aquarium – a separate part of Skansen with some exotic animals (requires additional tickets).

    If you’re just one or more than 5 persons, please, contact me for pricing.
