Hi! My name is Julia. Born in Russia, I've become a passionate lover of Sweden and everything about and around it. That's why I've spent half of my life studying the Swedish mentality, traditions and history... At the moment I work with various projects, some of which involve teaching Swedish, guiding in Sweden, writing books about Sweden - and that's what I'd like to share with you: my knowledge of all the secrets I've discovered so far. What makes me so different from other guides? Well, here are some examples: - I've written 3 thick travel guides over Sweden, Stockholm and Scandinavia, all of them with tons of fascinating facts - I've been guiding in Sweden since 2000 - I create excursions for various travel agencies - I give lectures about Swedish mentality and customs

  • What you will see and do

The Old town and Södermalm are probably the most attractive places in the whole Stockholm. Their architecture, the wonderful views, the fascinating stories about the kings, executions and ghosts - you'll find everything in this 3 hours long tour.

We start our walk at Fotografiska museum just to climb up the stairs and meet the first hidden pearl of Stockholm: an old street with tree building that can hardly be expected to be seen in such a modern city like Stockholm. Then we proceed through some witch-hunt quarters, go over the bridge and come to the heart of the city, Gamla stan (the Old town). There I'll take you to all the must sees and, besides, show you the places that remain unseen and unmentioned by most travel guides. We'll see the smallest statue in Stockholm, the runestone, the oldest café, the very first state bank in the word and, of course, the main square, where we'll hear a lot of its legends.

The duration of the tour is about 3-3,5 hours.

You'll need good and comfortable shoes as we'll need to climb up and down quite a lot.

Julia is one of the greatest guides we ever had. She knows Stockholm very well and she is a great storyteller. We enjoyed the tour a lot. I highly recommend Julia!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of Sodermalm, Knights Island and Old Town. Julia weaved a story of historical fact and folklore that was most entertaining. Thanks Julia

Julia knows a lot about Stockholm. We especially enjoyed her little stories from the past, small examples of what has once been and how it happened to real people. It makes history so much more alive again than just hearing about facts. We did a very long tour in one day - next time I would book two tours and maybe sit down for a while, treat Julia to a coffee and cinnamon bun to hear a bit about Sweden, their history and traditions in general. Very good and pleasant guide.
