Meet your host, Paul D
I am a spy author and tour guide with a deep life-long interest in espionage. I have lived and worked in London for twenty years. Join me for a tour of London's secrets.
What you will see and do
Join us outside Selfridges for a 2-hr walking tour of Baker Street. You'll see the wartime HQ of SOE, the Special Operations Executive, and a number of other espionage locations and wartime offices.
We look at the stories behind people such as Vera Atkins and Christine Granville, the women of SOE's French section. You will learn the truth about the 'house pyjamas', how a spy's dog gave him away, and where Anthony Blunt worked as a Russian spy in Portman Square.
Although Sherlock Holmes wasn't a spy, we do stop outside his house! You will become a World War Two spy yourself for the duration of this tour. Focusing on spies real and imagined, hosted by a lifelong John le Carré fan and author. What's included
We walk and talk throughout the two hours, and I'll also bring photos to help tell the story. What's not included
No refreshments and only limited rest stops. Be prepared to stand and walk for two hours.Cancellation policy
Where you'll meet
We meet outside Selfridges on the corner of Duke Street and Oxford Street. This is close to Bond Street tube station and Bus Stop 'BC'.
